One more day...

Hi there everyone...
Hope all of you are well and fine and prepared for the trip tmr...it is definitely going to be an exclusive experience i am sure. We have only seen each other in classrooms and school and now we are all going to be together for one week and that sounds really fun. (i think i am going to miss some of our darling friends especially from the sec 3 class who are not able to join us: nusaiba, aravind and ridhwan...wished they came along.nvm) Hope we all can understand each other better through this trip and make this experience a very memorable one. You will be staying in the rooms with friends of your choice as mentioned during the briefing; but bear in mind that things can really get different when you share rooms. You will find out 'more' about ur friends. Trust me! haha...but whatever it is, just remember that this trip aims to build positive bonds between everyone. So patience and giving in will go a long way in making this trip a fruitful one.
A special warning to Gals:
errrmmm...u know wat...things can really get slightly messy and out of hand when gals get together (like u know the drama in america's next top model)...haha...so beware! (ok ok i can see ur expressions when reading this) am not stereotyping la but just cautioning u so that u can anticipate better...so hope u can settle any issues at ur level...but of course teachers are always there for ur rescue.

So ya coming back to the focus of trip...i seriously havent start packing. anyways this is my first overseas trip WITH STUDENTS!. haha...i think it is going to be an unique experience...

So are you ready for the adventour? lets countdown the hours...wonder if i can sleep tonight.

Alrite i am also going to post some of the photos taken in the past few weeks during the briefings conducted and not forgetting our flu vaccination experience...do u all want to see Mr Anbu's exclusive flu jab photos????haha...then keep sending in ur posts for the blog and look out for more updates.
I need to run now...will catch up again.

Greetings to all,

I am really happy and elated to see this trip materialising. There has been alot of hardwork and planning done for this trip so that students partaking in this learning journey will truly benefit.

I read some of your posts and please be assured that the trip will be enjoyable and memorable. No worries about the food as the hotels we are staying, provides international spread apart from Indian dishes. So, you can have the best of both worlds. Try thosai with jam!!!!!!!!

I would like to thank Ms.Rabitha for coming up with this wonderful blog and Mdm.Sheela and Ms.Kalaivani for their tireless work. Thank you to Mr.Leong and Mr.Mannan for helping us to materialise this trip into reality!

Guys and Gals - keep your posts coming as this will definitely generate more flavour to the trip.

Introduction

This group consists of Poorathy, Nisha, Yoges, Saha and me, Kassandra (: we are all from e5, however we from different levels.

We are going to INDIA! and we are excited :D

We are so excited because:
this will be the first time on the plane with my friends! it will be a memorable experience for all of us, i believe. im also excited because this will be a chance for the three different levels (1, 2, and 3) to mingle and get to each other better. to me, the other levels seem nice so i am open to new friendships :D finally , i am also excited because i now have an opportunity to get in touch with my roots and culture from my ancestral country. it would definitely be fun to imagine what it would be like if i wasnt born here in singapore.

however, i am also very worried about:
the food! i am so used to eating fast food almost everyday, i actually have to admit that i havent eaten a traditional meal for quite some time. and now i have to eat a very traditional meal in india. i truly hope that i do not embarrass myself there. but i guess my worries do not have much of a base because our food is all monitored by our teachers. another thing i worry about is getting sick! i dont want to get sick on my one and only trip to india with my friends! the is a once in a lifetime chance and if i get sick, that would just be plain sad. and pitiful. last but not least, i hope i can occupy myself with enough things so i do not get homesick. i will defintely miss my family so i hope i have enough fun so i do not brood over them.

I am really excited to go to India as i would be able to have seven days of my own with my friends and teachers. I am really looking foward to all the activities that we are going to do and the places that we are going to visit. I think that this trip will be the best way for us to learn about life in india and how their culture varies from ours.

Pre-trip Activities
Get into groups of about 3-4 friends (teachers can decide on the size of each group)
Your 1st post should be on an ‘Introduction’. Write about who is in the group, where you are from, what your group hopes to learn, see and experience during this time overseas. Group photos would be good.
Follow up on the 1st post with your reflections on the pre trip briefing conducted by your teachers. When possible, include photos.

During the Trip
Instead of the daily reflection, daily blog posts about the day’s activities should be posted. If there is no internet connection, please have your reflections done, saved as a Word document. When internet connection is available, post the reflections online. This will serve like an online diary for your group.

Post trip Activities
Blog about what was being done after the trip, with photos as well. Use this blog as a communication channel between your friends after the trip.
