today is the second day of our trip(:
we went to dakshin chithra and mahabalipuram.
in dakshin chitra......
they displayed the diff. state of houses in each part of the country. it was like a mini south india. we saw a person who was specialised in glass blowing. it seemed easy but i was difficult.the guy had an experience of 25yrs.we also learned of how saris where made.It was serioud=sly confusing and hard but the guy managed to do like a pro.He had many confidence in him.

Next was the most exciting and incredible sights of all.We saw different sculptures made by our ancestors aat the same time we also saw many poor people begging for mmoney.it was heartbreaking but we still learnt how we should appreciate what we have.
And lastly there was the BUTTERBALL.it was a rather huge rock standing on top of a cliff supported by a small surface area.It was such a amazing sight.IN conclusion,we learnt that we have a rich diversity of cultures and we should continue to maintain our culture for thr future generations.our forefathers used sculptures and drawings to express their feeling and thoughts. This is a good takeaway for us.We are proud to be INDIANS.From group 5:)Cheers

We are group 1. Our group consist of Komathy, Shiney, Lavindran, Rita and Navin. Our experience so far as been a very fruitful one. To start with, we were very heartened by the hospitality given to us by the staff of Ambica Empire Hotel. Then we started with our visit to the Government Museum. In the museum, we got the chance to see the sculptures from thye ancient time. Next we went to to the Zoological gallery. Over there, we saw many preserved specimens of animals. Followed by, we went to the stone gallery where we got to seemany different types of stones and rocks. Later, we went to Fort St.Gerge. We were surprised that even at the olden days the architectual skills were very advanced as the church had a bomb shelter. Then we headed to the Kapaleeshwar Temple in Mylapore. The temple was very crowded as it was an auspicious day. Later we went to one of the most popular Shopping centres in Chennai which is The Spencer Plaza. Over there we were able to buy some interesting stuff and then we headed back to our hotel.

Spencer Plaza!!!!!

Spencer Mall, Spencers Plaza in Chennai, Shops at Spencer Plaza Chennai : Famous India

The largest, oldest and the most Spacious Mall of Chennai is called the Spencer Mall Of Chennai. Well..it is also known by the locals as the New within the Old, it has all the charms for a Smart Shopper. It is one of most popular malls of Chennai where you get to see all movie and TV stars.

It looks a bit clumsy for those who are habitual to the new grown breed of Shopping Malls, but it has the charm of being one of the oldest malls of Chennai with the latest brands under its shield. I hope you guys enjoyed well in Spencer plaza with your purchases... Did you all try the Indian version of KFC... the chicken seem spicy and hot....and the whole KFC concept will be different in India . You all will realise it... You can eat rice with chicken curry in KFC outlet!!!!

I will just share my personal experience in Spencer... On weekends. the whole place is packed like sardine tins... I used to go there with a group of friends... during my 3 yrs course in Chennai. Mostly, couples dominate the places.. and if you sit alone on the benches, you would get rude stares from the couples... I think for them, benches are their territory...hahaha and once, I met actress Lakshmi Rai in the mall.. when I was doing usual'' window shopping'' with a couple of friends.

She was wearing huge sunglasses and the crowd started to swell.. i wanted to get an autograph.. but action impossible.. So with disappointed faces all of us went back home in auto...

If you all go to LIFESTYLE.. You can see all branded clothes & accessories... all this cater only to the upper class of the society... may be 5 % of the population in Chennai.. whereas Most of Chennaities are still in middle income families . So Spencer plaza clothes are regareded as luxury goods to them. This is one of the inequalities in india. As young adults, you guys must know both sides of coin too. So I am just adding you with some information. Throughout the trip, You would get to see the life in world....Enjoy...

Bye...
